I am a space alien...

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 24, 2009, 2:15 AM

...and these new DeviantArt features confuseth me. *sigh* Why is the gallery not anymore arranged from newest to oldest? What's the use of the featured folders sidebar. Is the portfolio builder worth it? Can I haz your cookie? What's the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Still trying to get out of the country and find me a menial job™ abroad just so I can be closer to the game industry and actually find a job there without having to wait for a studio to sponsor a work visa or something. My skills are quite mediocre and I'm not worth it, sadly. I hate being born here.

Blah. *raises beer in a toast to hopeless dreams*

Kittuns for Breakfast

I should really update my gallery with all the new stuff I've made for Planetstorm. But I'm too tired after the grueling grind we went through for yet another release for Phase 4 of the Make Something Unreal Contest.

Anyway check out strangelet's new poster for our game universe: Wheresoever Tread..., featuring the work of the AFF: Planetstorm team including lots of upgraded stuff and lots more in the works as we speak.

For you...

Sat May 23, 2009, 12:54 PM
I made an unwrapping and texturing tutorial! :D

Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate (but can be difficult, especially if you're new to everything 3d, I'm not so good at explaining stuff :P)

Note: this tutorial requires you to already know the basics of modeling as well as decent know-how in GIMP/Photoshop (I used GIMP in this tutorial but the techniques can easily be replicated in Photoshop). You can skip through parts you know already.

Programs required: 3d Studio Max (9 preferably or higher), GIMP

Description: This tutorial will teach you how to unwrap and texture a simple box for game resources. The end result should be a metal crate. It's rather complicated, but don't be daunted, practice makes perfect. :) Believe it or not, I've already tried to simplify most of the steps here. It's usually much more complicated than this. So it's recommended you do everything to a T at first try, then experiment with variations on your own later. What's more important is that you understood WHY I did the things I did, rather than HOW.

Visit this link to read it: How to unwrap and texture a box

EDIT: Fixed the link. I put a : instead of a ", go figure. :P

Tooth fairies and Birthdays

Fri Jan 16, 2009, 4:25 PM
I iz now 23!

2 days before my birthday, a tooth started aching like a bitch, should've pulled it out long ago really. So I had it pulled out and as a result didn't get to eat much cake. The dentist stole my tooth. Evil greedy bish. And to top it off I just found out that the tooth fairy is a lie!

So was Santa. I'm disillusioned. Was I raised by shameless liars? What next? That bunnies don't lay colored eggs?!
